I found a nice PDF of the promo Comic for New Vegas... I never got to check this out, cause I didn't buy the ridiculous Collectors Edition... But now here is your chance to read it for free online!

The comic was created by Dark Horse Comics and tells some of the history of New Vegas and how it sprang up in the Mojave Desert and flourished before you know… the shit hit the fan. And it’s free through the link below.

Yes its a bit late... Im sure MANY of you have read this before... However I had not, and felt like sharing it!

Russian Fallout

I found a pretty interesting video of what I am assuming is
a Russian Fallout LARP session...

Not the most amazing thing to watch, but I greatly appreciate
the costume design... and cant say that I wouldn't have a lot
of fun with a few air-soft guns shooting some raiders.

Ive heard a lot of talk about how much more serious fallout is over
yonder.... and from the scenery I have seen in some of the videos
I completely understand...

Speaking of amazing costume... Look at these people :

Damn... That is some Serious Costumes right there!
It almost makes me feel sane with the passion I still hold for
Fallout...

History And Review of Fallout - Part 1 & 2

I watched a very great piece showing the history of
Fallout, from Wasteland, to the creation of Fallout 1 & 2,
to the failed Van Buren Project -- All the way leading to
Bethesda's Massive Fallout 3.

This is a bit of an old review/video, but I just recently
found it again, and thought it was well worth a share...
It is well donw, factual, poignant, and serves a great
point of interest to my self, and Im sure other fans
of the fallout name-sake.

Give the videos a watch, and use the links below
to check out this awesome two part series!

Part 1 :

Media Consumes Me’s History and Review of the Fallout series, from it’s origins in the late 80’s to the popular Bethesda bonanza of today. This is Part 1 of 2 in a trip through the post apocalyptic wastelands. I had to suffer through a night of no sleep to complete this post, then go to work for 12 hours, eating only chocolate chip cookies, so I hope you enjoy!

Part 2 :

In Part 1, I talked about the origins of the Fallout series beginning with the inventive Wasteland by Electronic Arts.  I explored the heart of the series in Interplay’s Fallout 1 and 2, and talked a little about Fallout Tactics with it’s inclusion of real-time combat. I finished up without comment on the immature joke riddled console game Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. Now I continue the journey of the franchise in Media Consumes Me’s History and Review of the Fallout Series Part 2.

Craft is Good for the Mentat Health

Mentats are fun... and by far one my favorite fictional drugs...
with the exception of maybe JET!

So I decided to try my hand at making me a cheap prop version...
After a few moments I found a decent fold-able design of it, and it was off to Kinkos

Here is how it looks when done :

So after a quick print out on some nice heavy card-stock,
I folded out the design and it came out looking GREAT!
Weirdly has an odd flap in the back, kind of like an orbitz gum package.

Id like to mess around with this, and use it as a template for my own designs..
although beyond that (and I am reaching) to make a nice tin one
similar to this : Tin Mentats

15th Anniversary of Fallout!

On NMA (No Mutants Allowed) I was told today is the 15th Anniversary of Fallout...
Here is what they had to say :
Fallout's birthday is a bit hard to peg. Wikipedia says 30 September but as is so often the case with wiki, this is completely unfounded. According to the original website, the "silver" date is 1 October, and it was in stores in North America by 7 October, so take either one as the anniversary date.

Nothing new for its 15th, just a good waypoint to commemorate. Go back to check out the 10th anniversary releases if you never have before.

Setting Fallout 4 Pt 2

California Literary Review has posted another blog talking in great
detail over the location of Fallout 4. This Article wades the the brahmin shit
covered streets of the USA to talk about locations other than the
 alleged Boston Rumors.
...what I’m discussing today is nothing short of pure, unadulterated (but hopefully still informed) speculation! The time-honored tradition of fans everywhere! Looking at something we enjoy far too much and saying, “What if this were to happen next?”
Talking in detail on locations ranging from New Orleans
(New New Orleans?) All the way to New Jersey (New New Jersey?)
even the grand old country of Texas... This is a great read, well written,
and smart (more smary, but you get the idea)

On New Jersey : Actually, if the plot centers on a G.E.C.K. gone wrong, where a “Garden of Eden” in the Garden State mutates out of control? That’s not too bad; it could even steal some of the thunder from The Last of Us. You also get literal Jersey Devils of course, and we get to see the cast of The Jersey Shore mutate further thanks to radiation . . .
Check out the Whole Articlein the links below... and Check out
the first one too... They are a fun read!

Nuka Cola... Or How I quenched my wasteland thirst.

Many times I have seen people that made their own Nuka-Cola bottles...
And I thought... "Why on Earth do I not have those littered around my apartment"
So I decided to take a few hours, and do it myself...

Here is the last example that inspired me:

After doing a quick google search I found that someone had already made
sheets of these labels for print. (see below for the link)
So I went down to Kinko's printed them out, and slapped some on a couple
of empty Mexican Coke bottle... The results were pretty great!

Next time I might give making my own label a try....
And maybe try roughing the glass up a bit with some sand paper or the like.
Either way, I look forward to doing this BEFORE I drink the damn things!
And for sure work on getting my hands on some caps!
